My 7th visit to ISE, and this year it was bigger than ever,
both in terms of exhibitor space, number of visitors and imaginative
use of exhibition stands.
Hitachi interactive sports bar
I enjoyed a great game of pool on Hitachi's sports bar theme stand, and would never have dreamed of using an interactive projector to project a dart board onto a magnetic board, onto which you throw magnetic darts and then 'write' your scores with digital ink. Plus there was an interactive projected golf course and, back to the pool table, not only did it have the Hitachi logo projected onto the table, but when you pocketed a ball, the whole table lit up with cascading pool balls. Awesome!
Panasonic's magic show was amaze-ing
A big thank you to Panasonic for inviting me to their Monday evening event and what an event it was. There were welcome drinks and nibbles, some great networking, presentations by several Panasonic staff members which kept the pace lively and interesting as we viewed their new technology and goals for the coming year. And if that wasn't enough, there followed a fabulous buffet of hot local dishes and desserts and a band to entertain us. Well done. But it didn't end there. Right in the entrance to Hall 1, on the hour, people were enthralled by Panasonic's Magic Show. A great mime artist interacted with large event projectors to play 'ball' with a Panasonic box dinosaur, jet off to discover new worlds, score a goal with the floating 'ball' and entertainingly put over the message of the power of imagination and 30,000+ lumen projection.
StarBoard software offer interactive
StarBoard is a well-known software brand, especially in the education market, and have teamed up with iBoard i3 to bring both interactive whiteboard solutions and interactive LED displays both with infrared and capacitive touch technologies for education and business markets across Europe and the UK.
AOPEN's partner evening at Amsterdam's Heineken Experience was a great evening. The highlight of the Heineken tour was the 'ride' where 'passengers' were the beer being 'brewed' and finally transported to a Heineken beach party. Very imaginative. AOPEN's staff are a credit to their company and were both knowledge on their digital signage players and signage solutions, yet professional and friendly. Dinner was a fantastic array of hot and cold local dishes and a great opportunity to network with their partners from across Europe. I visited their exhibition stand 3 times during the week, and each time the stand was buzzing with visitors, a testament to great team.
In a prominent corner position in Hall 12, a new comer to the UK market, Specktron manufacturer of interactive LED displays, multimedia projectors, video walls and Point of Sale systems, they have representation in the United Arab Emirates, Europe and UK, and North & West Africa.
Projecting out of a lampshade!
Unusual and imaginative always attracts attention and none other than Vivitek stand as their tiny Qumi LED projector was placed in a lampshade, projecting their logo and images onto a coffee table.
